With onwards access to walks up the Ochil Hills and glens and along the Forth, Alloa town centre is the ideal place to be based to get out, get going, get active!
Parking is free all day in Alloa or you can arrive in the town centre by train and after a delicious breakfast or coffee at one of the many eateries, immediately set off down Route 767 towards Dollar with fabulous views of the Ochils throughout. Once you reach Tillicoultry there are walks up the Tillicoultry Glen, or take part in some dry skiing on the dry ski slope Firpark or head further along the cycleway to Dollar and enjoy a jaunt up the delightful Dollar Glen to the famous and imposing Castle Campbell.
Other great cycles are the Hillfoots loop – also starting in Alloa and taking in 12 miles of amazing easy-to-ride countryside.

If you are looking for something less strenuous, then direct from Alloa you can take an easy walk down to the RSPB Blackdevon Reserve, just a gentle 2.5K walk from the town centre. There you can see the beautiful nature of the wetlands of the Forth Valley. For more details check out the RSPB webpage. For other short walks around Alloa, contact Wee County Walkers who have daily walks around the county and on Friday a group meets at Tescos at 12noon for an easy access walk.
Alloa has its own small Leisure Bowl with pool, gym, bowls, snooker and a bar and restaurant it is a great place to drop in and get active. Just a stones-throw from the town centre also it provides lots of options for visitors on a rainy day. The famous Alloa first-of the-year Half Marathon sets off from the Bowl and more details can be found on their website. If you are wanting to get ready for running or take your first steps then Wee County Harriers is the local running group and has lots of sessions a week for all ages and stages.
